 The Bonsai

There are many and different ways to prepare a bonsai tree collection or simply to grow a single tree in miniature.  The prospect to take care of a tree in a pot can appear discouraging: there are no identical plants (even shrubs of the same species can be completely different between themselves) and it is necessary to understand thoroughly the nature and the symbolic meaning of a bonsai tree to really know it.

Growing bonsai trees is a logical process: different needs of exposure, nourishment and watering correspond to each plant, so it is necessary to intervene according to these needs. Differences are easily detected with a proper knowledge of the essences; to learn how to design the plant, it is indispensable to know the most common styles and shaping techniques; to keep it well, it is useful to follow aftercare suggestions.

Learning the bonsai growing rules, the differences and the similarities among the essences, is a long trip in a special and complicated nature; having even a vague knowledge in bonsai cultivation improves the sensitivity in the more general field of gardening.
