Among all the things that Jesus said during His time here on the earth, the most startling thing can be found in John 3:3 " ... Jesus declared, I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." Jesus said it again in John
3:7 "Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." Many people try to explain away the meaning of these words that Jesus commanded to all humanity. It means that something supernatural has to happen to a person to take him from the way he is to the way that God wants him to be. |
In reply Jesus declared, "I
tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is
born again."
"How
can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus
asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second
time into his mother's womb to be born!" |
Peter teaches about this in 1 Peter 1:23 "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever." To be born again is important enough that Jesus explained it to Nicodemus in John 3:1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named
Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. |
