Bridge commander

Bridge commander is one of the best star trek game,s ever made (not that hard).You play the captian of first a galaxy class starship (ie the enterprise from tng) and then a soverian class (ie enterprise from first contact on).

the story is that your ship was damaged and your captian killed (at the time you where the second in command)when a star was destroyed by a unkown force however it doesnt take a person with a iq of 300 to find out who done it.

The missions in bc are fairly linner(can only clear them in one way)and also are very untrek like in the way that all you do is fly in to a system scan a few planets and destroy ever single ship you meet however on saying that the game itself come,s to life in the combat mode with the starship looking great and flying just like you would thing a large ship would.

The effect,s in the game are very good such as sheilds glowing when hit by weapions fire warp trails comeing of your engine,s very nice space blackgrounds with sun,s and nebula,s and being able to blow hole,s in the other ship,s The scale of ship,s and starbase,s are very impressive with your ship looking tiny compeared to a starbase also the size of other ship,s like the warbird (whic is twice the size of a galaxy class) or the small bird of prey all look real planet,s are huge as are sun,s and nebula,s however planet,s look somewhat dull

You can control your ship from either the bridge or from a out side view you can also either compleatly control your ship ie firer weapions control power etc or let your crew do it and just give orders to them but this is only a fad and your best victorys will come from the out side view where you control the ship

The game also give,s you a quick battle mode is which you can fight as any number of ship,s includeing the galaxy class nebula class warbird akria soverian class and war bird plus about 15 other ship,s you can also fight against huge starbase,s

However the best mode is mulit player in which you play other people on the net which is great fun plus beening a trek game their is a huge clan fleet number that you can join such as red squadrons over all star trek bridge commander is a top class game and isnt just the best star trek game but also the best capital ship combat game to be had at the moment
