Setting up a web site for broadband users

before i even start adsl/broadband is lanching in setember 2001
and it might take 1 to 2 years before adsl has a good amount of home/business users
and not everyone will have adsl so still have a normual web site no top of a broadband site

Intro
broadband is a always on internet (online 24 7) and is ten time faster then a 56k,
you can watch video you can view interactive site in no time and don't have to watch the deadley "Loading ... please wait" for a half hour (interactive sites are sites using flash, quicktime and real player and most require broadband ),

broadband will bring better design web site with better content/services

How can broadband help my web site
well for a start you now have a option to use technologys that have been slower on 56k,
like FLASH, Quicktime, and many more

for a look at a website that used flash look at
newmedia.ie

for a look at a web site using quicktime look at
Quicktime.com

Planing
and now for the hard suff

  • get some outside help for flash and quicktime
  • try to inproved the services and make them easyer for your user
  • if your selling items on your site why not try quicktime VR instead of a jepg
  • use flash instead of gif
  • try to improved the interface with flash
  • and ask your customers what would they want on the site ro what they want to improved on the new broadband site
  • content/services/speed still come first looks come 2nd but try to improved them with flash and other technologys

Cost
any think from £1000 to £6000 look around for a good designer

i wise you good luck and a very good web site
