GLEN CELTIC A.F.C - DINNER DANCE 2006

Saturday 18th February 2005 saw Glen Celtic A.F.C hold their 2006 Dinner Dance in the White House Hotel in Ballinlough. There was a very good attendance and guest speaker on the night was Johnny Morris Burke a good friend of Glen Celtic throughout the years and a very talented League of Ireland Soccer Player. The night was a huge success with the facility and meal excellent and the after dinner speechs well executed by Chairperson Tom Cunningham. Music on the night was by Patsy Haugh & Pheonix and was followed by a Disco by DJ Bill Haugh and needless to say the floor was full all night as everyone enjoyed the great atmosphere.

Great credit must go to a couple of people for the success of this Dinner Dance. Susie Fannon and Emma Curley were the main organizers of everything and were ably assisted by Damian Fannon and Tomas Giblin as they enthuastically set about getting everything organized. Many times people sit down to a Dinner Dance and do not fully appreciate what it takes to organize such an event. From day 1 all the various aspects have to be organized and then for a successful night tickets need to be sold, menus sorted out, music booked and that are only the main areas. Anyone who was at this Dinner Dance would tell you that their preparation paid off with a very successful event. Well done to Susie, Emma, Damian & Tomas.

A number of awards were presented on the night with Jason Fannon receiving Player of the Year for Glen Celtic A which was accepted by his mother Mary. Keith Cunniffe deservedly took the Player of the Year for the U-18's and Rebecca McPhilbin won the Ladies Team Player of the Year. The B-Team somehow managed to lose the plot altogether and Pat McHugh won this award.
