Joint Residents' Group
This group meets once a month in St. Mark's School. It consists of residents from all the parks in the Glen and we look at issues which are pertinent at the time of meeting. It is also an opportunity for meeting new people, finding out about what is happening in the area and having a bit of craic over food and beverages at the end of the night. Estate Management
Estate Management in Ireland is a new approach to housing management with Tenant Participation. The Tenant Participation/Estate Management Project in the Glen aims at encouraging and enabling people to become involved in their estates. It is a partnership between the residents and Cork Corporation.

Magnet
Magnet is a voluntary networking group, made up of local representatives and professionals working in the area. The group was set up in 1993 to provide support and information between different groups in the Glen.
Meetings are held in St. Brendan's School on Wednesdays from 12.30 to 1.45 pm.

Traveller Visibility Group
The TVG Ltd. was formed in 1992 by a group of Travellers concerned that Travellers be included in a useful and relevant manner in the emerging area-based structures created to promote local socio-economic development in Cork.

Glen Neighbourhood Youth Project (NYP)
Services provided:
Open House
: A Youth Club where children aged 9 and over play games at the NYP and do art with the help of an art teacher.
Social Skills Group
A group for young people aged 10 and over to enhance social function.
Homework Group
This group helps to assist young people at 2nd level with their academic achievements through supervised homework with the assistance of quality teaching staff and group leaders.
Leadership Group
This group helps to train young people aged 18-22 to run children's clubs.
Children's Games & Book Library
Local children can borrow books and games for a week.
Adults' Library
The Library is available to locals every morning

Youth Reach
This is a compensatory form of education for young people over the age of 15 who have left the formal school system without any qualification and are not in full-time employment. The participants on the programme are paid FÁS rates, depending on their age. The aim of the project is to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable young people to make a successful transition to work and adult life. Youth Reach has a variety of training programmes, which cover a range of subjects including computers, are, photography, tourism, cultural studies, literacy and health.

Glen Youth Development Project
This project is operated by Foróige and is funded by the City of Cork VEC. It is a comprehensive project which caters for young people who have left school early and are unemployed. It offers a range of out-of-school educational programmes, including multi-skills, drama, cookery, health education, creative writing, outdoor pursuits and group work. The purpose of the project is to equip young people to develop personally and as members of the community

Glen Summer Recreation Scheme
The summer scheme is a 2-week programme run in early July. It is organised by a voluntary committee who are affiliated to Ógra Chorcaí. The scheme is for children aged between 4-13 years. The activities include day trips, swimming, discos, arts and crafts, sports, etc. The success of the scheme depends on the number of volunteers, so the committee would welcome any parent who would like to get involved in this very worthwhile programme.

St. Brendan's Girl Guides
The Guides meet every Saturday from 6.30 6.30 to 8.15 pm in the Church Hall. We cater for girls aged 10-16 years. Activities include orienteering, comping, movement to music, first aid, games of all kinds. We are affiliated to Catholic Guides of Ireland. We take part in diocesan competitions and have won many awards including the Major Shield for Best Guide Company in the Diocese

St. Brendan's Altar Society
We look after the flowers, altar cloths and general cleaning in St. Brendan's Church. We link with the Senior Citizens' Club to organise afternoon teas in the club, the summer outing and Christmas party.

St. Brendan's Girls' National School
An all-round education. In St. Brenda's the children are educated in a warm, colourful and welcoming environment. Small class sizes give a distinct advantage to each child. Outside the core subjects the children are offered a wide range of other activities:
1. Art, in which pupils have been involved in competitions
2. Computers: a well-equipped specialist room with up-to-date computers and printers
3. French: from 1st to 6th Class
Physical education, drama and music are also on the curriculum. Sewing and cookery are available for 5th and 6th classes
There is a remedial and resource teacher on hand for individual help with learning difficulties. There are also educational tours. Spiritual growth classes are part of the curriculum, as is preparation for the sacraments.

St. Mark's offers pupils a great variety of subjects and activities as well as the core subjects of English, Irish, Maths, History & Geography, Environmental Studies, Art & Music, etc. Pupils are able to avail of Hurling, Football and Rugby coaching, Tennis coaching, Musical Training, Speece & Drama, Educational Outings. The teaching of religion and preparatioin for the sacraments are an important part of the school's ethos. Parents are always welcome at St. Mark's school to meet the teachers formally or informally. They are always given a great welcome in the Parents' Room, whether it is for a class activity or for a cuppa and a chat.

Classes are held each Wednesday from 2pm to 3pm on trumpet and clarinet in St. Brendan's School and rom 3pm to 3.45pm in St. Mark's School. Numbers in these classes are limited by the availability of instruments.
