The Glenamaddy Players are Glenamaddy's Drama group who, since 1972 have been touring on the Drama Festival circuit and have had great successes in the past. This years production is Brian Friel's "The Communication Chord" a hilarious farce based around the communication (and the lack of it) between the residents and visitors of a small rural Irish village. The group have now reached the all-Ireland finals which will be held soon in Waterford. The producer of this years play is Margaret Shaughnessy, this is her first time producing although she has been involved with the Glenamaddy Players for many years and she has now proved that she a is very capable producer with this great success. |

Glenamaddy has been a part of the drama festival circuit since 1960. The festival, throughout the years has been presented in The Esker Ballroom and the Community Centre where it is now presented annually. The festival in Glenamaddy every year lasts for 10 days and groups from all around the country come to present their productions to the public and to try and impress the judges. On the final night of each festival week prizes are awarded and depending on how well each group do in each venue they may be allowed to go onto the final of their chosen category which is held in a different place every year. |
