The town of Glenamaddy was twinned with the town of Guiscriff, France in 1993. Since then there have been many exchanges between the two towns. On these exchanges people from Guiscriff come to visit Glenamaddy and Glenamaddy people visit Guiscriff. On these visits, visitors get a taste of the atmosphere and culture of the place that they are staying in, and indeed a lot can be gained and learned from such experiences.
In August 1999 a group from Guiscriff came to Glenamaddy and were given a warm welcome and much hospitality. To commemorate this visit an 18th century mock wedding was staged with participants from both towns all dressed in period costume especially for the occasion.
