Outings 2003:
- Saturday 15 March Exploring the geology of Connemara - this outing will be lead by Martin Feely. Numbers will be limited.
- Saturday 12 April A short walk on the banks of the river Corrib, with the aim of looking at vegetation and invertebrates in the Corrib river and adjacent habitats. Report
- Sunday 11 May Recording the flora of Charleville Woods, Co. Offaly. A site of old forest with an abundance of bryophytes and lichens. Leader: Sasha van der Sleesen
- Saturday and Sunday 31 May/1 June Outing to the Burren with Belfast Naturalists' Field Club. Looking at all aspects of the natural history of the region. Leaders: Eugenie Regan, Stephen McCormack, Aine O Connor, Chris Peppiatt (GNFC), Mike Simms (BNFC)
- Sunday 22 June The mountain flora of the Sheefry Hills, Co. Mayo will be investigated, particularly the apline plants. This will be a long walk over rough terrain and will require suitable clothing and footwear and attendance will be limited. Leader: Cillian Roden. Report
- Saturday 19 July A visit to the east side of Lough Corrib paying particular attention to the insects and other invertebrates. Report
- August bank holiday weekend 2, 3, 4 August A weekend on Inishbofin surveying the flora, fauna and some insect groups of the Island.
- Saturday 13 September Moth morning at Ardnasillagh, Co. Galway. Report
- Sunday 28 September A visit to the seashore at Finnavarra, Co. Clare surveying the flora and fauna of the extensive intertidal zone.
- Saturday 18 October An exploration of the Slieve Aughty Mountains, Co. Galway with the possibility of observing the deer rut and the red squirrel. Leader: Padraig Keirns

- Further details of each of the above outings including meeting times and locations will be circulated by email in the week prior to each outing.
- Please bring sturdy boots (or wellies if required), rain gear and a packed lunch.
- Feel free to forward the schedule to interested parties. Non-members are welcome to attend but it is hoped to increase the number of members.
- On outings where numbers are limited preference will be given to members of GNFC.
