Outings 2009:
- February 28th-March 1st Weekend in Co. Sligo, including Lissadell House and the Bricklieves.
- Saturday 30th May Lichen field trip oin the Burren with Christina Campbell and Sharon Parr, details to be confirmed.
- June 13th-14th Weekend trip to High Island (weather and sea conditons permitting) and camping on Omey Island on Saturday and perhaps Roundstone on Sunday
- June Midweek evening trip to the Ardrahan Grassland, details to be confirmed.
- An archaeology/geology trip is planned, details to be confirmed.
- July 4th or 5th A trip to the Burren, details to be confirmed.
- August 15th Trip to Ross Lake and Lough Corrib for dragonflies and damselflies, botany, aquatic invertebrates. BBQ at Kilbeg in evening.
- September 19th-20th Weekend in west Cork, including whale watching day boat trip from Castlehaven. Both Fin and Humpback whales have been regularly seen on trips run by the boat we will go on.
- October Macro-Fungi (mushrooms and toadstools) trip, details to be confirmed..
- Saturday November 21st One/two day trip to Lough Boora parklands, Co. Offaly to visit the Irish Grey Partridge Conservation trust project.
Further details of each of the above outings including meeting times
and locations will be circulated by email in the week prior to each
outing.
- Please bring sturdy boots (or wellies if required), rain gear and a packed lunch.
- Feel free to forward the schedule to interested
parties. Non-members are welcome to attend, but are encouraged to become
paid members after a few outings for insurance purposes.
- On outings where numbers are limited preference will be given to members of GNFC.
