BASKETBALL HITS GONZAGA!!
Two months ago Bryan McCullough, Kevin Quinlan and Darragh Taylor pitched their
idea of a school basketball team to an enthusiastic Mr Potts. With help from the
Board of Management and the Fifth Year Parents training was able to start almost
immediately.
Training sessions are taken once a week on Tuesdays by David Quinlan and have
so far proved very successful. We hope to be playing competitively by the start
of next season but in the meantime friendly games will be organised for some much
needed match practice!!
Congratulations to John Wade (Sen 2A) on
winning First Prize in the Senior Poetry feis at the Dún Laoghaire Youth
Drama Festival with The Day I got my Finger stuck up my Nose by Brian
Patten.

The Gonzaga Senior Chess team of Peter Hayes (Capt), Mark McGovern, David Murray,
Daniel Lynch and Tony Naughton are Leinster Senior Champions for 2002. This is
the sixth year in a row and for the sixteenth time in the last seventeen years
that Gonzaga holds this title. They will represent Leinster and defend their All-Ireland
title in Cork in May.
