Please ensure that cables are fitted snugly to both your PS3 and your television. Then you must ensure that your TV is on the correct channel. When you plug your PS3 into your TV, look for a description beside the sockets on your TV, such as HDMI 2 or AV4. You must then select this channel on your television. Look for a button on your TV remote that says AV, or Source. Press such a button until you arrive at the channel the PS3 is using.

Ensure the PS3 is turned on at the back, but in standby mode (i.e. red light on front). If the green light is on at the front, press the power button near the disc tray until you hear a beep and the PS3 will go into standby. Once the PS3 is in standby, simply press and hold the power button until you hear two beeps. This resets the video settings for the PS3 and should display a picture on your TV regardless of which type of cable you have used.
