Limerick Yeomen SBG Hybrid

No less than fifteen Dunbrody Archers defied pessimistic weather forecasts to make the two and a half hour journey to Limerick on Sunday last. An enjoyable day was had by ALMOST all on this arrow smashing course.(Some of us even managed to lose or break arrows around the practice butts.)
A few wintery spells, depleated arrow supplies and muck slides (remember the film Cool Runnings!) made for a day to remember as did the occasional shouts of "Yann are you sure these distances are correct?"
However the worst of the weather failed to reach this Limerick region and anybody with arrows left to shoot (with the exception of a certain Crystal County Archer), remained on to the end to win one of the MANY raffle prizes available!!!
So a good day, and an experience for the newer archers from Dunbrody who travelled.
A good test for us all Yann, John and co... Keep up the good work.
(ps... A few more raffle prizes next time would be good)

For a veteran archer aged well over 21, the Limerick course is a bit of a slog. It does make for some interesting shots, but half way round I was longing for the flatlands of Loughcrew!
Yann and his meagre staff have obviously worked hard to get this new course up and running. A bit more signage would help, and a few of the target faces were really not acceptable.
Folk are beginning to get the message about scoresheets. Yann was like teacher, packing guys off to get their sheets corrected.
Thanks to the weather, I had a much better day than I expected, with good company and a reasonable score. Some records were broken, including a junior/cub score of 500+ which will take some beating.
