Credit Union Quiz
Every year the Credit Union holds its annual quiz, all over Ireland and Northern Ireland. There are three stages in the quiz and there are two categories, under 11 and under 13. I have been in our school quiz team for the last two years. Last year two of our school teams got into the semi-finals in Ballybofey. This years quiz was held in Mc Namaras on the 26th of January. Our school entered two teams in each category. My team came second in the under 13 category. Our other school teams came third, fourth and fifth. Scoil Eoghain, Moville came first in both categories. Good luck to them in the semi-final this year!

Sports
During the Autumn term we had lots of football matches both soccer and Gaelic. We had good fun and we really enjoyed our away matches because it meant we could leave school early!!!!
The girls won the Inishowen section of Cumann na mBunscoil. So a big Congratulations to them. We have lots of people to thank for our success but we especially want to thank Anne Bonner our Manager. We now have to play in the Donegal semi-final.
Unfortunately due to the Foot and Mouth scare we will not be able to play the semi-final until the ban on outdoor activities has been lifted.

We are very proud of the fact that we have been All-Ireland Champions in 1999 and 2000. In 1999 Mc Donalds sponsered the event. We won the Inishowen section of the League by the skin of our teeth!! But we sailed through the Ulster and All Ireland section.
In 2000 the following team members won the Ribena All Ireland

  • Colum Browne
  • Michael Farren
  • Eunan Hegarty
  • Mark Henry
  • Michael Kelly
  • Paddy Keys
  • Alistair Canning
  • John Mc Dermott

  • All this could not have been done without the help of our Managers Aiden Farren and Sean Mc Dermott. Thank you very much!!
