How to get to Green Lodge

Transportation to West Cork ---To help you decide on which mode of transport to choose take a look here. The Good news this year is that Swansea Cork Ferries is operational once again.

Airports---Cork is the nearest airport, but travelling from airports in Kerry, Shannon & Dublin are another option. Travel Information has probably got those useful travel phone numbers that you have been searching for. Both RyanAir and AerLingus offer cheap flights throughout the year.

Ports-----The major Ferry companies are. Pembroke to Rosslaire with Irish Ferries and Sealink. The most direct ferry link with Cork is the Swansea Cork Ferries. Other useful information can be found at the Emerald Tiger

Buses----The Bantry bus leaves Cork bus station from lane one at 09.15; 10.30; 12.30; 13.30; 16.30; 18.00 & 19.00hrs (mon to sat).The sunday sevice is limited to 10.30; 13.30;18.00 &19.30 hrs. AA Roadwatch Bus

Taxi & Cabs---There are several taxies available from Bantry, the expected cost is around €8/€10 for the 8km. journey to Green Lodge.

Car----- Journey times form; Cork approx hour & half. Rosslaire approx 5 hours. Dublin approx 6 hours. The AA Route planner can be handy to work out your route for you.

Car Hire----Usually you need to be over 26 and have a credit card to rent a car in Ireland. If you are looking to hire a car from afar, then find a rental car might well be useful. The only one I have ever used is Budget Car Rental and they have always been pretty conpetitive and reliable. I have heard good reports of Malone Car Rentals too.

Directions from Cork - take the N71 to Bandon. Then on to Dunmanway, Drimoleaque and Bantry. Take the Glengarriff out of Bantry. After 5km, at Ballylickey Bridge, turn right onto the Macroom Road. Travel 3 km to Pearsons Bridge. Turn left at the Pub on the left; then turn immediatelyright. Travel for Ikm , Green Lodge is on the left after the bend in the road.
