HAZEL FORTUNE

Hazel has been a member of the Greystones Orchestra since it's foundation in 1989. In 1993 she made her first solo appearance with the orchestra in Vivaldi's "Spring" from The Four Seasons, and again in 2000 when she played Beethoven's Romance in F.

Hazel comes from a musical background. Her father was a professional singer. She began violin studies aged 8 in London. When 11, she won a Junior Exhibitioner seven year scholorship to the Royal Academy of Music in London, taking piano as a second instrument. She has gained experience in orchestral playing in England and Ireland.

Hazel worked as a speech therapist for ten years and now, married with three children, she combines family life with teaching violin. She is also a member of the Senza Sordini Quartet playing for weddings and functions.
