Nordic Track Treadmill Reviews

Nordic Track treadmills are known for their comprehensive range of features. But it’s not just features that determine the quality of a treadmill. This article takes a closer look at the Nordic Track range... Nordic Track treadmills are actually produced by Icon Health and Fitness. In fact, if you’ve read some of our other treadmill reviews you’ll know that Icon is one of the biggest producers of exercise equipment in the world. Their impressive portfolio of subsidiary companies includes Reebok, Welso, Proform and Weider.
Ranging from around $1000 to $2000 you can class Nordic Track treadmills in the mid price range. Smooth treadmills (click for our full review) are quickly becoming the gold standard in this price category so how do Nordic Track compare?

Firstly, Nordic Track treadmills tend to be more feature laden. For example, most of their running decks use what they term as "Reflex Deck Technology". In English this means that as you step down, the deck flattens to absorb the impact and then springs back to its original shape. It is very comfortable to run on but doesn’t necessarily replicate the demands of road or track running (if that’s what you’re training for).

Nordic’s electronic consoles mirror what you’d expect to find on a club machine with a good array of readouts and preset programs. However, Smooth are an equal match in this department. More importantly, what about component construction, durability and stability?

A good indication of the quality of any treadmill (and indeed any piece of exercise equipment) is the duration of the warranty. NordicTrack treadmills have what is called a "3-2-1 warranty" which covers the motor for three years, the frame and other parts for two years and all labor charges for one year.

Nordic Track treadmills are difficult to find online. Reviewed below are two from the workoutwarehouse.com.

Nordic Track C2200 Treadmill

We Like: For less than $1000 the Nordic Track C2200 Treadmill has a great specification: Advanced FlexStep Cushioning, interactive iFIT.com technology, CardioGrip Pulse Sensor, 10 Built-in Workouts and It folds!

We Dislike:
The biggest let down with the Nordic Track C2200 Treadmill is that little puny 1.75HP.There are Treadmills at this price that have a 2.0 HP motor as standard, Smooth’s 5.0P being one.

Nordic Track E3200 Treadmill

We Like: The the Nordic Track E3200 Treadmill is a machine that we like, because for the price it is so complete and it feels sturdy too. The motor is commercial grade so it should take a good pounding for many years to come.

We Dislike:
Like the Nordic C2200 above , this model suffers from being slightly underpowered, although it has a class leading top speed, and the warranty could be a little longer.

Folding: Yes
Heart Rate: Yes
Maximum Incline: 12%
Maximum Speed: 12mph
