Proform Treadmill Reviews

Proform treadmills are produced by Icon Fitness, the biggest manufacturer of exercise equipment in the world. Their list of brand names is impressive, including names such as Nordic Track, Reebok, Weider and Weslo.

The cheapest Proform treadmills (under $500) generally receive poor reviews from the Fitness Industry. And it is important to note that these Treadmills aren’t suitable for serious athletes and runners, but are ok for walking and light use. A budget of at least $1000 should be considered for a Treadmill that is going to receive heavy use.

Proform are budget to mid range machines that range in price from $400 to $1300.They have a large range of machines but we are only reviewing what we believe are the five best. To see the complete range please go WorkoutWarehouse.com or TheSportsAuthority.com

Proform Crosswalk GTX

We Like: This is one of Proform’s sub $400 machines. The Proform Crosswalk GTX is similar to an elliptical trainer with its dual action arms, so you can work your upper body as you walk. For the money the specification is generous with a 2.0HP motor,10 mph top speed and Protech Cushioning.it is also foldable.

We Dislike:
If you are just a walker or very light runner and don’t intend to give this any punishment the Proform Crosswalk GTX might serve its purpose. It feels very lightly put together but for $400 that’s about all you can expect. The running surface is also very small.

Proform LX360 Treadmill

We Like: The LX360 is Proform’s other $399 machine. A very similar specification to the Crosswalk GTX without the dual action arms. The Proform LX360 does have a reasonable amount of equipment though.

We Dislike:
We wouldn’t buy one, a better idea might be to spend another $200 and go for the Proform 795SL.

Proform 795 SL Treadmill

We Like: In terms of bang for buck, the Proform 795 SL is a good machine. The specification is excellent for $600 machine with a 2.5 HP motor and decent running surface. It also comes with a heart rate monitor. This Proform is also iFIT compatible which is quiet rare at this price.

We Dislike: Still on a bit on the light side but a much better machine than LX360. Warranty is poor, which is normal for sub $1000 machines.

Proform 995 SEL Treadmill

We Like: Despite being less than $1000, this Proform 995 SEL has most of the ingredients that make up a decent Treadmill. It has a whopping 2.75 HP motor and large running surface of 55” x 20”. It also comes free with the '8 Weeks to a Better Body' program including 8 motivating workouts on CD, the Shape It Up! strength training video and Guidebook & Planner. The CD workouts plug into the iFIT.com communications port.

We Dislike: A decent Treadmill the Proform 995 SEL may be, but it faces very stiff competition from the likes of Smooth’s excellent 5.0P. Warranty and light build still let down.

Folding: Yes
Heart Rate: Yes
Maximum Incline: 10%
Maximum Speed: 10mph
Motor Size: 2.75HP continuous duty
Running Surface: 55in x 20in

ProForm CT 1260 Treadmill

We Like: This is one of Proforms $1000 + machines and it feels substantially better built than its lesser brethren. Motor is weaker than the 995 SEL but top speed is higher at 12 mph. The specification is very complete for this price and equipment levels are generous.

We Dislike:
Bad warranty compared to the best in the industry such as the Smooth range, as is the build quality.
