Proposed Education Programme for 'the no. 3 bus'

Diary

This education programme we hope will run throughout the period from December 2001 to May 2002, incorporating both the 'the no.3 bus' exhibition in february at the Vision Centre and the end of year exhibition, May 24(opening) through to the 31 of May 2002.

As the education team our objectives are to offer a programme which would compliment the exhibitions, such as workshops, slide talks, guided visits, lunchtime lectures and family events.

For the end of year exhibition we hope to have an outreach programme. The theme for the outreach programme we hope will be 'Hands On Art And Design', which will focus on the relationship between fine art and contemporary design techniques. These workshops could be of benefit both to the artist and the student, as it would introduce the students to the work in a personal and informal way.

We hope for the end of year, to work on a programme for special need students, through the use of music and materials, and to undertake that all education group visits, guided tours and workshops can be adapted for students with special needs.

For both exhibitons we hope to visit schools, shops, etc on the route of 'the no3 bus', to inform them of the exhibitions, get their memories, photographs of their travels on 'the no3 bus', which can be exhibited at the Vision Centre and included on a programme for both exhibitions.

To put a programme together which could include photos, stories, a handmade book on the makers, a handling collection and resource packs. To ask music students to compose music inspired by the works which could be heard on audio tapes for the visually disabled. For the exhibition in the Vision Centre to put together small workshops which could be run by students and co-ordinated by Arts Administration, and activity sheets which will be developed by the education team.

To work to develop a website, including pictures, music, chatroom, mailing list, map, links to other sites and any other relevant information.

This education programme could be used as a base to be delevoped upon in years to come.

For any other information/queries, don't hesitate to contact the education team.
