Who we are

This is an exhibition of student work entitled 'the no. 3 bus, works from colaiste stiofain naofa', which will be on display in the Cork Vision Centre, 6th-27th February 2002. It will show the quality of work and the commitment of both staff and students to courses. Having the exhibition a city centre location allows a wide audience to appreciate the work being designed at the college.

Duration: One year full time

Introduction:The Arts Industry in Ireland is a growing and developing sector showing increased employment potential for those interestedin the Arts and creative activity.This is a one-year full-time course is designed to provide students with specialist skills necessary to work in an arts enviroment.This is achieved through the provision of an academic base and work placement where students have an opportunity to put theory into pratice.

Duration: Two years full-time (with option of second year)

Introduction:This course is designed to introduce students to a variety of skills nessecery for a career within the furniture Industry.The demand for quality furniture made from natural wood and the need for skilled craftpersons.

Duration: One year full-time

Introduction: The Art, Craft and Design course at Colaiste Stiofain Naofa is one of the longest established foundation courses in this country.Since its inception it has earned a reputation for excellance, and has developed strong links with third level institutions and with industry.A high percentage of our students continue in further education, and many are now active in a wide range of perfessional areas.

Duration: One/Two years

Introduction:Graphic Design is the largest growtnh area in the design world.Areas like the web page design have exploded the amount of opportunities for graphic designers.Graduates of this course will be well equipped and competent to enter employment ranging from graphic designer to design related departments of multimedia and web page design.

Introduction:This course is designed for students with exisiting art,craft or design skills.Students will be introduced to a wide range of cermanic processes together with formulation of clay and glazes.



Mechanical Engineering

Duration: One year full-time

Introduction: The course aims to educate and train students in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on the technical requirements of industry in Ireland. The course is a preparation for direct employment in an engineering industry, and for entry into third level education.
