Steeple Wood.

Heavy showers from time to time.

This is the first time I've noticed Bulbous Rush - Juncus bulbosus - at this spot. The viviparous shoots gave it away. Sometimes it makes these rooting plantlets in the flowerheads instead of seeds.

Not too much of a surprise, since the Raspberry flowers were shown only recently. Bramble is still in flower, too, and the black berries are still around in large numbers.

A fantastic little (12mm.) bracket fungus on a fallen twig. Crepidotus pubescens.

This is the time of year when twigs break off trees and the higher lichens come tumbling down for us to see. Ramalina fastigiata.

In between the heavy showers, the sky went clear blue. This Ash was striking with its white bark against the blue sky. It is on the edge of a cliff and dominates the entire location. The top of the tree is probably 30m. above my head at this location.
