High deforestation.

Sun and blue sky all day, but cool in the shade.

Bog Pondweed - Potamogeton polygonifolius - has been showing for some weeks, but is now making significant growth.

As part of my study of mosses this year, I'm finding as many different samples as possible. This appears to be pale new growth of a Sphagnum.

The usual orange fungal growth on dead wood is Dacrymyces stillatus, but this appears to be much more 'angular'. Research on-going.

Another new species showing growth in water is Juncus effusus - Soft Rush. I hadn't previously noticed the red colouration of the new stems, although red is a common colour in Juncus spp.
