Glyphipterix simpliciella - Cocksfoot Moth

 The Cocksfoot - a micromoth - flies in May and June. The larva lives inside stems of Cocksfoot grass, under the top pair of leaves. The diagnostic exit holes can be found up to March if the leaves are stripped back.

The larva matures at around 3 mm long:

    

The adult feeds on pollen from many flowers.
