Original Hedgerow, leg 2.

 

Frequent heavy showers.

 

Leaves don't get much of a chance to develop before the parasites move in. The fungal rust Puccinia ulmariae on Meadowsweet - Filipendula ulmaria.

 

Foxglove flowers should be open next week. These buds can remain in the almost-open state for quite a few days.

 

A close-up of Green-veined White - our most common local butterfly.

Meadow Pea will be open soon. Lathyrus pratensis.

 

These are the flowers of Common Sorrel - Rumex acetosa.

 

The seeds of Willows are now beginning to be released by the pointed pods.

Anyone else see a Donkey's head in this?
