Original Hedgerow, leg 1.

 

Frequent rain showers.

I've had to give this section of the patch a miss for the past two months because it was severely cut back in early June and there has been nothing to see since then. Today's visit showed that a few ferns have put up shoots and a couple of flowers have made a second attempt. The interesting thing about the ferns is that they have made no spores. I suppose that if you're a perennial and have no time left to reproduce, then you might as well make green growth and feed up the root system for next year.

I managed this poor shot of a moth in bad light against a light background. Let's just say that Photoshop has some useful contrast and brightness tuning facilities.
