More from Ards forest.
Frequent heavy showers. |
Golden Rod - Solidago virgaurea - is in better condition than it will be in October when I normally go fungus hunting here. |
The Hedgehog fungus - Hydnum repandum - is good to eat, with a chewy texture. |
A clutch of Lactarius specimens. Lactarius rufus (L) and Lactarius piperatus (R).
Lactarius deterrimus has bright orange milk and is a Spruce associate.
|
A distinctive Cortinarius. Dermocybe group, I think.
|
This tiny white Mycena was in the darkest part of the forest and covered every dead branch and twig.
|
Another Lactarius with milk that turned yellow very quickly. Lactarius chrysorrheus.
|
This yellow Russula is everywhere in the forest. Russula ochroleuca, I think. |
One of the purple Cortinarius species. |
A little (1cm. cap) Marasmius, perhaps Marasmius ramealis. |
Another small Marasmius, this time on Beech. Marasmius rotula. |
