Verge and wall to south of town.

Heavy showers.

Four flowers that are still on the go: (clockwise from top left) Hairy Bittercress, Common Daisy, Ivy-leaved Toadflax and Yarrow.

A Galerina on the grass verge, and the remains of a larger mushroom that has done its sporing job and fallen over to return to the soil.

Homalothecium sericeum grows on walls and can be recognised by the pale, pointed, new growth.

Rhytidiadelphus squarrosus is the excellent little moss that grows through grasses.

And lastly, a very seasonal (for easter!) Willow catkin. It's Salix viminalis (or a near hybrid), and the growing tip has already been burned by frost. This specimen has a habit of flowering months early and any decent frost will kill the flowers, with the plant having to catch up in April.
