A very short trip to Drumboe. Rain stopped play.

One very brief bright spell in an otherwise very wet day.

I've spent some time this year looking for Cerodontha sylvatica larvae without success. But this one appears to have survived the 'Woodrush Strimmer'. Why anyone would actually want to strim Woodrush is absolutely beyond me.

At least there is some sign of survival, but this colony (the only one discovered in Ireland) hovers right on the edge.

Pure white and with a bent, bulbous stem: Lyophyllum connatum.

Not sure if this picture really works. There were feathers all over this small tree, in a loose pyramid. Looks like some airborne predator had taken its prey up to a safe height before dismembering it.
