The map shows the six main areas to be covered during 2004

The Forestry ranges from recently harvested through to mature coniferous plantation, and all stages in between, with minor deciduous areas around the border.

The Bog is peat bog, largely undisturbed.

Hedgerow is the original hedgerow from 2003.

The town centre includes areas like the wall around the Bishop's palace.

The river Deele is around 20 feet wide at this point, and fairly fast flowing. Deciduous to one bank, arable to the other.

The Stone Circle is approached via deciduous woodland. The area around it is grazed by sheep.

In addition, the grid reference shown will enable any 1 km square on the map to be pinpointed.
