Original Hedgerow, leg 2.

 

Cloudy with prolonged showers.

 

I opened up a rolled-up leaf and found a spider protecting her eggs. Interesting blue colour of the protective 'nest'.

 

I found this sawfly larva on the underside of a willow leaf. Looks like there's a minute parasitic mite on its back.

Another quick peek at the sawfly larvae from yesterday.

There are now plenty of fungal rusts appearing on leaves. The wet summer will certainly have helped these.
