18th August

Clear-felled forestry.

Continuous rain.

Devilsbit Scabious is well behind schedule this year. It's normally late, but the cold July and August have made it even later.

A little Conocybe. Now I know where the makers of the Flowerpot Men got the inspiration for their hats.

Cystoderma amianthinum, showing the characteristic "Granny's Stockings" below the ring.

I've noticed that water drops always sit neatly in rows on Fairy Flax.

A rather mangled specimen of the Blusher - Amanita rubescens.

I've begun to notice new growth in some of the mosses. This is Rhytidiadelphus triquetrum.

And later, back at home, a little spider.
