Original Hedgerow, leg 2.
Dull with heavy showers. |
I'm not quite sure that this image really shows what I'm trying to show, but the left-hand side of the bush has now been completely defoliated by the Nematus pavidus sawfly larvae. All that's left is the skeletal vein structure of the leaves. |
These are the mature larvae at 20 mm long.
