21st February |
Walled bridge over the river Deele.
Bright with a very cold wind. |
As I walked along the wall I got the idea of showing basal leaf rosettes of various yellow daisies. These plants are difficult enough to identify when in full flower, so I realise that this page is fraught with opportunities for red faces - mostly mine. So, they are: - Top left - Catsear - Hypochaeris radicata Top right - Dandelion - Taraxacum officinale agg. Bottom left - Smooth Hawksbeard - Crepis capillaris Bottom Right - Spiny Sow-thistle - Sonchus asper.
