A visit to Dunfanaghy on the North West coast..

Dull and wet.

Flower buds of  Thrift - Armeria maritima - were present on just one specimen on a rocky outcrop just off the sea.

This lichen - Verrucaria maura - was growing on a vertical rock near the high water line. Left-hand sample about 10 cm. across. Right-hand sample about 1 cm. across.

Two more lichens on rocks only a metre or so from the sea. On the left is a Ramalina. The right-hand one is Caloplaca thallincola.
