The Burial site of Killeen Cormac

The Burial site of Killeen Cormac is situated in the townsland of Colbinstown. The name Killeen Cormac means Cormac's little cemetery. This old cemetery is a picturesque valley through which the river Greese flows, separating at Killeen Cormac the counties of Kildare and Wicklow. The site is remarkable for two reasons. Firstly, it is an ancient pagan cemetery adapted to Christian use, and secondly, it is the only place in County of Kildare where Ogham-inscribed stones are known to have existed.
