Welcome to Puerto de la Duquesa, one of the best kept secrets on the Costa del Sol. La Duquesa is in the township of Manilva midway between Marbella and Gibraltar, 15km south west of Estepona and north east of Sotogrande.
It is an hour's easy drive from Malaga airport and 25 minutes from Gibraltar. Duquesa is a small seaside town with a lively port area around a marina and a good selection of friendly shops, bars and restaurants.
We have a lovely penthouse apartment to rent in the Duquesa Suites, a brand new complex with fabulous views along the coast. See our home page for more details.
Duquesa Beach

The brand new Duquesa Suites Golf and Gardens complex is in a quiet area away from the port yet it is only a short walk to the marina and port area of Puerto de la Duquesa. There are no high rise hotels here to spoil the view. On the European blue flag sandy beach in high season are various watersports and fishing and a seafood restaurant. The beach stretches north as far as Sabanillas and on to Estepona. South, it winds around the coast to the well known golfing resort of Sotogrande.
Around the lively port, you will find numerous shops and bars, a bank with an ATM and an internet cafe. There is a tourist information office that sells guided tours with VivAndalucia (ask me if you want to book beforehand) and a shop that rents bikes, videos, DVDs, even playstations and fishing tackle. There are hairdressers and beauty salons, clothes and souvenirs. Restaurants include cuisine from France, Italy, Thailand, China, India, Great Britain and Ireland as well as Spain.
Lively Port Area
The marina has more than 300 berths for boats of all shapes and sizes from all over the world. The Duquesa waterfront is closed to traffic making it very safe for families. In the summer there is a popular street market.

Sabanillas Town
Sabanillas is a nearby seaside fishing port with a more Spanish feel, less than ten minutes walk away, either along the beach promenade or the road. There are many shops including pharmacies, a tabac where you can buy stamps, supermarkets, an English bookshop and furniture shops if you feel so inclined. There is a selection of bars and restaurants and a market on Sundays.
Duquesa Golf and Country Club
Duquesa's golf and country club is a championship 18 hole Robert Trent Jones course. It is 5 minutes walk away and overlooks the Mediterranean with views out to North Africa and Gibraltar. The Costa del Sol is sometimes referred to as the Costa del Golf.
There are plenty of other top quality courses within a 30 minute drive of La Duquesa including the world famous courses in Sotogrande which has hosted the Ryder cup; recommended courses are on our golf webpage.
Day Trips
There are plenty of beautiful places to visit in Andalucia and the rest of Southern Spain. Marbella is 25 minutes away, Granada about a 2 hour drive and Seville 2.5 hours. More suggestions are on our Places to Visit page.
