The pitch used by the club in Ringaskiddy and known to the locals as "the grounds" was bulldozed by the IDA. The sporting facility had been available to the residents for many years. "The grounds" were laid out by the Royal Navy when they were based in Haulbowline. The land then passed to the Department of Defence and from them to the IDA. The club received compensation from the IDA when they signed an agreement giving up all claim to the land at the end of June. A week later it was bulldozed. Craters were dug all over the pitch, making it impossible for any games to be played.
