Family History

I have a large amount of information about my family history. I had a head start in that my grandad's cousin John Holmes of Monasterevan had put together most of the information relating to the Co Laois Holmes family. Further information and assistance came through Richard Holmes of Australia and his Holmes Webring including distant cousin Dianne Friden in California.

My research gave me some information on the Zimber story but it was another distant cousin Martin Zimber from Canada who gave me the vital information connecting to the "Schwarzwald".

Of course as interesting as all this is, there are still many other stories to be told when you look at the list of names below, so I'm really just started on this journey. The amazing thing is that I made contact with Richard, Dianne, Martin and another cousin Philip Zimber through the internet. So this site is my effort to make contact with others.

I'm descended from people called Holmes (Laois), Kirwan (Dublin), O'Flaherty (Waterford), Nagle (Tipperary), Zimber (Baden-Württemberg), Kavanagh, Reale, Larkin, Lee, Long, Mannion (Galway), Ashmore, Quinn, Kearns, Arthurs and Barley.

And on Helen's side the names are Kelly (Laois), McCarthy (Cork), Sheedy, Cronin and Dineen.
