  Best Time of the Year
by
Aidan Doyle
My best time of the year is summer because I get to bring my dog for a walk and fish and play games and go to the canal. I also get to go up the mountains and I get to swim in the river. I like to climb trees and go for drives and eat icepops and, of course, best of all I get holidays to go to foreign counties and eat their food while it rains all day in Ireland.

  My Favourite TV Programme
by
David Reardon
My favourite tv programme is Den Two. It is on every day at three o'clock, which is great because I finish school at a quarter to three, so I don't miss any of it. It features different cartoons every day. The main characters are Dustin and Socky and the presenter on the show Daimon. Dustin, as we all know, is very good at impersonating people and he is also a strong MANCHESTER UNITED fan. Dustin has already made a record with Joe Dolan and it went to 1st in the charts. My favourite cartoon on Den Two is the Rugrats. The main characters are Tommy, Chucky, Phill and Lill who are twins and Angelica. Tommy is my favourite because he is nice. Angelica always gets her own way and if she breaks a glass or a vase she blames it on the babies.

  A Strange House
by
Michael Flynn
The strangest house I have been to is in Arklow. In the kitchen there was a lion on the table and monkeys on the chairs. Above the fireplace in the sittingroom there were little model animals and in the corner there was a letterbox. I looked in the mirror and I looked like an eagle.
I went back to the house the next day. I went in, but I wasn't walking, I was flying! I had wings! When I tried to open the door, but I couldn't. I was trapped.
A few hours later my mum came. She was not able to open the door and she began turning into a hawk. My dad came in and he had turned into a parrot. When my sister came, she could not open the door either and she turned into a parrot. My dog came in and he was turned into a human and he would not shut up.
When my nanny came, she turned into a stork, but she told my granddad not to close the door and we all managed to escape, the house disappeared and we went back to being normal.
Where the house had been, I found some bones. These turned into animals. Now, in my garden, there are storks, eagles, lions, monkeys and lots of other animals.

  A Good Book
by
Jamie Sue Kelly
I enjoyed a book called "The Last Battle" by C.S.Lewis. This is number 7 of the chronicles of Narnia. The climax is the last battle between good and evil. My favourite character would have to be Aslan himself, the God of Narnia. My least favourite was Shift, a clever old ape. I felt sorry for Shift's sidekick, a gullible donkey called Puzzle. At the start, Shift finds a lion skin and persuades Puzzle to pretend to be Aslan. This causes havoc and distress. The question is - can Jill and Eustace help the king get his country back?

  Another Good Book
by
Paul Nolan
Out of all the books I've read, My favourite is "Foodland", written by Tony Hickey. It is about a leprechaun called Brian, who saw two fat twins having a picnic and littering the forest. Brian is angry and brings them to a place called Foodland. This is a place where everything is made of food. At the start, the twins like the place. But, after they go into town and eat the Town Hall, the people punish them. About a month after they get home again, Brian goes to see them and they are now thin.
