  The School Day
Parents should be aware of the normal times of opening and closing of the school and of the procedures to be complied with to facilitate the smooth running of the school.
The school gates are opened at 8.35am approx. and the children are allowed into the school grounds but not in the school building. Children are not supervised before 9am. The school opens at 9am and finishes at 1.45pm for infants and 2.45pm for all other pupils. 10.50am to 11am for morning break, 12.25pm to 12.35pm lunch which is eaten in the classroom, 12.35pm to 1pm play in the yard.
Regular attendance and punctuality are very important. If pupils wish to leave the school for any reason during the day, it would be preferable if a parent or guardian collected them. If this is not possible they must produce a written request signed by the parent or guardian.
Under no circumstances will children be allowed to go to the shops.
A child must produce a note when returning from sick leave or arriving late for school.
The staff carpark is for staff cars only and for visitors to the school. In the interest of safety it must not be used to drop off children in the morning or collect them in the afternoon.
Parents or Guardians who are absent from the home should make arrangements for someone to look after the children in the event of their child being sent home due to some unforeseen circumstances. Details of the alternative guardian and a telephone number should be supplied on the form provided by the school.
