New Development
Childcare Facility: On Fri. Mar 4th The Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform granted funding to Horeswood Community Childcare to build a pre-school and after-school room as part of Horeswod GAA development. This was welcome news as further progress was dependent on the granting of this. Many parents in the area will be pleased with this facility which will assist mothers in particular to return to employment or further education.

The club has undertaken it's next fundraising venture. People are being asked to donate €300 either as a once off payment, in four €75 standing orders or twelve monthly standing orders of €25. The club is registered for Charitable Tax Status so self employed people and businesses can claim tax on the donation. Anyone interested in subscribing should contact Billy Molloy 051 421677.

Work has commenced on the indoor playing arena and the the building was roofed in January. The next stage will be the erection of mass concrete walls and it is planned to have it ready to play in next September.

A number of fundraising ventures will be undertaken during the year. Supporters and businesses are being asked to make a donation or sign up to a standing order. The project is registered for Charitable Tax Status so self employed people or businesses can write off the donation against Tax.

Planning permission has been granted for an ambitious new development, consisting of an indoor playing area measuring approx. 55 m by 25m. as well as two changing rooms with showers, an office and store downstairs with a pre school and after school upstairs.
The main pitch will also be floodlit to allow games be played at night.
Alterations will be made to the Handball/Racketball alley to include a glass back wall, improved viewing gallery and changing rooms.
Improved changing facilities will also be provided for the Ladies football teams.
Extra land will be bought, extending the lower pitch to compensate for the ground lost to the new building.

The application to build pre-school and after-school facilities is with the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform and hopefully a positive response will be received shortly.
