Dear Parents/ Guardians,

This week is “Green School Action Week” with a full schedule of activities happening throughout the school involving all classes. Mrs. Kavanagh and the Green School committee of pupils, parents and teachers have devised a series of activities and events including a visit to Recycling 2000 and Killurin Landfill for 6th ,a workshop on recycling through art with  Gerry Foran for 5th and a trip to the J.F.K.Park for willow weaving for 4th. Other classes will plant bulbs, seeds and most importantly keep the school litter free!

Chairman of Wexford Co. Council, Mr. Denis Kennedy will plant apple trees on Thursday at 10am. The apple trees will be planted behind the benches near the perimeter wall. It is hoped that the fruit will be eaten as by the children for “fruit break”.

The Green motto devised by a group from 6th class is:

                   Rethink!....

                   Reduce

                   Reuse

                   Recycle

                   Return

                ….Result!

The Green School folder is being submitted this week and we hope it will lead to a Green Flag before the end of this school year.
