Dear Parents/ Guardians,
School
year Mass
We
celebrate the start of the school year with a special
mass at St. James Church, Horeswood on Sunday September
30th at 10.30am.Junior Infants will be
invited on to the altar to sing their “Off to
school” song at the end of the liturgy.
First
Aid Practice
Four
of our teaching staff attended a First Aid course during
the summer. As a result of advice given at this course
it has been agreed by both staff & Board of
Management of Scoil Mhuire that cuts will now be treated
with water & lint only. In the case of a deep cut it
will be dressed with recommended dressings.
Please
remember to request an indemnity form for use of
inhalers or condition-related medication. One form covers
the entire period your child attends the school.
General medicines are not administered by
teachers but parents are welcome to come in and
administer the necessary medication.
Health
& Safety
While
we have an extensive supervision policy at Scoil Mhuire
we would request parents to be vigilant in supervising
their children to & from school. It is not
permissible for children to climb the walls at the exit
gate. Please observe the parking area car restrictions.
We continue to have problems with cars blocking bus
access at the gate.
Football
finalists
Well
done to the Girls U-12 football team who put up a brave
battle against Taghmon in the repeat Co. Final on
Saturday. The team has shown great form over the season
and were unfortunate to lose out on this
occasion.Congratulations to Mary Cummins who played in
the half time challenge match in Croke Park on Sunday.
