(via Lions District website). Hi Seamus - I'm interested in knowing more about how to become a member of my local Lions club. I live in Clontarf, so the nearest is Howth/Sutton but there are no contact details on their homepage (Webmaster: click on Feedback on homepage). I see that membership is by invitation, is it appropriate to simply turn up at their next meeting ? Or do you have contact details ? Thanks for your help,  Niall Rooney  niall247@eircom.net  December 4, 2005. (responded to by email)

Hi, I am the chairperson of a new member’s project in Galway Lions club. We are looking for new ideas on fundraising and donations.  We decided to poll a group of existing Lions club to see how you are fundraising and how are you spending your funds.  You are one of the selected clubs.  I would greatly appreciate if you could send me a list of your major fundraising activities and a list of your donation activities.  Kind Regards , Pat Sheehan sheehanp@o2.ie September 26, 2005

My name is Giancarlo Alù and I am  the President of a 25 years old Lions Club Valle Tiberina, located in the northside of Rome, Italy and I wanted to be in the number of your admirers! I am impressed by your efficency: my mother used to say 'choose your friends among the best'.  This is the reason why I wrote. Also in the name of my club I would like to get in active contact with you, fullfilling one of the ideals of the Lionism: make friends, remembering that art and culture are the true viaticum for tolerance and peace. We might accomplish this idea with exchange of ideas, visits (you come to Rome and be with us), and services. We have 28 (10 ladies) members.  Most of us are medical doctors, some lowers, merchants and industrialist. I am a former teacher of Art history in Archaeology. I give you all the coordinates just in case:email : Giancarlo Alù, Lions Club Valle Tiberina, Rome. giancarloalu@libero.it. March 22, 2004

Tom: We met and had a great visit. The dinner at the Abbey lasts all evening so our wives were'nt upset when we spent some time with your Lions. They had pins so we traded our convention pin for your Irish pins. Also enjoyed a Guinness which certainly seems to be the drink of choice in Ireland. Gerald dropped off a bulletin and I will try to send him one of ours. Our trip was very successful. Thanks for your help. Ross Butler .r.butler@ripnet.com, June 22, 2003.

Lion Tom:
We (myself and Don Green) are to visit the Abbey Tavern in Howth on june 16th and wish to meet with local Lions. We will wear our Lions ball caps if we are outside, inside you will have to look for us I guess. We will try and keep an eye out for someone in a Lions jacket, vest, cap or whatever. I was our president in 99/2000. We are looking forward to meeting some Irish Lions, it could be the highlight of our trip,Lion Ross.r.butler@ripnet.com, (from US /Canada?) May 23, 2003.

Greetings from the U.S. and congratulations on a very successful Quiz Night. Sorry that myself and Patsy could not have been there. This proves that things can run smoothly without me. Yours in Lionism, PDG Paddy O'Donnell, softech_consult@lycos.com  20 Jan 2001.

I think you have a great web site, congratulations on your successful Lions events, and all you do for your community. I feel connected to your club since we hosted one year youth, Andrew Langford, son of Gerald and Anne. We very much enjoyed his stay in our home, and our district's international youth camp, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, summer 1999. I will be attending the international convention this year in Indianapolis, IN. as the District Governor Elect for District 14- D. If anyone from your club plans to attend this year's international convention please pass along my e- mail address, it would be great to meet them. Regards, Larry Miller, VDG 14-D larrymillusa@netscape.net   20 Jan 2001.
