Mid January 2006 - NW Ireland R1b Sub-group "Niall of the Nine Hostages" Trinity Project Released
March 2006 - http://irishnewspaperarchives.com/ - The Irish Newspaper Archives website is officially launched, which has access to Irish Newspaper archives going back to 1763 - 1924.
April 2006 - Genealogy and Heraldry Bill 2006 Launched in Irish Parliament (Dail) by Senator Brendan Ryan. This Bill will change and amend the legal status of the Irish Heraldry Office which has not changed since 1552. Modernising Irish Heraldry and bringing it into line with Ireland's status as a Constitutional Republic. In effect, the Bill recognises and enhance's Heraldry in the Irish context as an expression of our Heritage, recognising the importance of Place, Local Identity, County Affinity and Family Roots. Barra McCain is a musician and writer living in Oxford, Mississippi. He is the coordinator of the McCain and Ulster DNA Projects and a co-coordinator of the Irish Heritage DNA Project.
August 2006 - Irish Roots Magazine - Issue 3 out.
September 2006 - Major update to the the IHDP website - DNA results revamped - entire website redesigned. Also the addition of a Distance Marker Chart of R1b1's from NW Ireland measured against the Niall FTDNA 25 marker signiture.
The Addition of Hit counter's on some webpages, the presentation of Niall of the Nine Hostages DYS Reference table/Chart on the homepage. This is for users to check their own DYS Markers against Trinity's various Research IMH/DYS Marker Results.
October 16th - New Results of full membership posted.
October 27th - New Sections added in Genealogical Research section.
November 6th - Press Release announcing the launch of the "Mid-Argyle and Isles DNA Research Project" by Barra McCain.
November 10th - Extensive updates to IHDP website, additions include a Northwest Irish R1b1c7 analysis and review of all IHDP NW Irish confirmed R1b1c7 SNP results. Addition of a historical reference for Niall of the Nine Hostages.
November 13th - IHDP Members Results Table for November now available
November 24th - Massive revamp of the IHDP Members results

January 1st - First Update of results and website in 2007 - IHDP wishes all a happy New Year.
January 16th - Second Update of 2007 - R1b1 tables have been updated. Added Books and Reading material.
January 25th - Large update to existing results

February 13th - FTDNA launches a special offer to convert test results from other labs:The FTDNA offer goes "Adding members from other labs: At the request of many group administrators, we have agreed to offer a below cost set of tests to allow people that have tested with other labs to get tested with Family Tree DNA and be included in your Surname Project. The new participant will have to fill this LAB CONVERSION FORM and send it back to our office .This offer is valid until 3/31/07."
February 15th - Issue 1 - 2007 Irish Roots Magazine out now. Irish Roots magazine is looking for a new publisher. Belgravia Publications who produce Irish Roots Magazine have announced they are only publishing three more issues, that is to the end of 2007. July 5th - Update to Focus on R1b1c7, There are approx 74 confirmed R1b1c7 members, on this page we look at the possible origins of the many surnames with this haplotype.
July 6th - Further update to Focus on R1b1c7, there are now 90 confirmed R1b1c7 results featured on this page. Updated R1b1 and Master results pages.
July 13th - Updates to the Complete DNA results, the R1b1 page and the I Haplogroup.
July 17th - IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - a new addition to the results tables are additional results markers to the 67 provided by FTDNA. IHDP is now in a postion to accomodate as many markers or customizations as a person may wish (within reason!). Just be patient if you do make a request for inclusion of additional markers as they have to be manually entered.
July 17th- IHDP Master Results (Complete membership results) and the R1b1 Tables of results have been updated.
July-23rd - Complete yDNA results updated for all haplogroups - including the R1b1c7 table.
