School team land Hurling Title
Mountshannon defeated Feakle in a close fought Division 6 Schools Final in Cusack Park on Wednesday 16th June 2004. Playing against the wind in the opening half, Mountshannon established an early lead with goals from Michael Dooley (2), Paul Burke and Christopher McNamara.
Trailing by eleven points at the break and facing into a stiff breeze, the omens were not good for Feakle. However Feakle emerged transformed in the second half and, led from full back by Gary Guilfoyle, they fought back to cut the deficit to four points at one stage. Cillian Bane and Sean McGrath also played a big part in the Feakle revival.
However a long distance point from Michael Dooley and a late goal and a point from Colin Bleach put Mountshannon out of reach at the end.
