Rapper

Pimples, passions, parents and regret

Hindered and held me and forced me to forget

The hopes and the dreams I had as a boy

Were replaced and opposed by my search for joy.

How could it be there was so much fear

To reconcile myself with those I held dear.

I wanted to be loved for who I was

But all I seemed to get was because and because

You’re a divil and a debtor, a doubter I was told

You’re such an angry boy so unlike our fold.

Somehow I managed to go my separate way

Suffering and smiling through each and everyday.

Uptown, downtown, over and across

Everywhere I went I seemed to make a loss.

Then one day a hit came along, it was oh so strong

And very nearly gave me my own swan song.

Enough was enough, I needed to get back

Back on the track I’d left long ago

Anything and everything, whatever it would take

I’d go straight and wouldn’t be slow

To hang my head in shame and say I didn’t know

Stop the heavy drinking and getting high and high

The mind is like a rubber band that stretches ‘till you die.

Speed it up or slow in down too often and you’ll see

How out of shape and silly a head can be.

I asked for help and got it and never turned away

From then until this day upon the basic principle of work

To pay your way

I wish you well from suicide and crazy drivin’ too

Hold back your horses for a while and try to do and do

The thing you know deep in your heart

Be noble and be true

Should newspapers who intentionally fail to report serious wrong-doing be brought to trial?

Would God have placed one race, one tribe, one empire above that of another in His wish to show us how to live or would He have have gifted us an innate religion called Reason?
