This castle is situated on the road from Innishannon to Kinsale.It was built by Philip Roche in1544.It was taken off Patrick Roche,by force, under Lord Adderley in 1642.Shippool Castle and lands were granted to the Herrick family. They lived there until they moved from the castle in 1787 to live in Shippool House. | |
