Douglas Girls1-2. Scoil Eoin 2 - 3 (paper report)

This final turned out to be a fantastic game , with both teams giving a magnificent display of football. All the excitement of the day was jam-packed into this GF1 (girls) football final. A powerful second-half performance from St.Columbas fuelled a mighty comeback but the fight ran dry as a gallant Innishannon side spearheaded by a phenomenal display from tasty attacker, Katie ,held out for a memorable win.

Boosted by a timely goal before the break after Katie's solo run brilliantly set up Eimear , the south east school deservedly took a 1-1 to 0-1 lead to the dressing room, an advantage the quickly extended with a goal from Marita .

Then came Maedhbh who goaled after a dazzling four-player surge .

Douglas further reduced the deficit to three with a Shine free as the game whittled out in a flurry of excitement. However, Cornelia sealed the victory for Innishannon with the final point.
