Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I have my pet's toe-nails cut?

Pets rarely need their toe-nails cut as most wear their nails down naturally. However, if the nails are curled around and are growing in towards the foot pads, or are causing problems they should be cut. Trimming cats' nails can result in less wear and tear on your furniture. Scratching posts are also useful to keep you cats from damaging your furniture.

Cutting dogs' nails can be tricky. It's often difficult to see where the quick is making it easy to cut the nails too short which is painful for the dog and can result in bleeding. It's a job best left to a vet or a dog groomer. Surprisingly it's easier to cut cat's nails. The quick is usually obvious, and so it's easy to cut at the right spot.
